Cabinet approves ₹53,428 cr NSAP extension, renames schemes

Union Cabinet approved continuation of NSAP with ₹53,428 crore outlay for 2026-31, renaming it Pradhan Mantri Samajik Sahayata Yojana. Sub-schemes under old age, widow, and disability pensions were also renamed. Divyangjan pension rates revised; disability eligibility threshold reduced from 80% to 40%, with minimum age set from birth.
