Cabinet clears ₹9,072-crore projects to boost rail freight

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved three railway multitracking projects worth about ₹9,072 crore aimed at decongesting key routes and significantly improving freight movement. The projects are proposed across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. These projects will expand the Indian Railways network by around 307 km and are scheduled for completion by 2030-31.
