The Union Cabinet is likely to approve the financial incentives proposal for chip manufacturing in India, a report stated. The ₹1,480 crore incentives plan could be announced under the Semicon India programme, which was approved by the Cabinet in 2021. The Semicon programme aims to develop India's sustainable semiconductor and display ecosystem with a financial outlay of ₹76,000 crore.
