CAG flagged serious discrepancies in financial assistance extended to construction workers in Maharashtra during Covid-19 pandemic. The audit revealed ₹2,000 per beneficiary was transferred more than once to same bank account in 32,018 cases, leading to excess payment of ₹3.26 crore. Whereas, 1,20,764 workers were denied second instalment of ₹3,000 despite having received the first installment.
