A Calcium Artery Calcium Score, obtained through a cardiac CT, provides critical information about the presence, extent, and location of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. A score of 0 implies no detectable plaque or low risk of coronary artery disease. A higher calcium score indicates the presence of coronary artery disease, and a higher risk of heart attack.
