California's public health department confirmed a second case of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron in two days on Thursday. A resident of Los Angeles is currently self-isolating after contracting the new variant of the virus while visiting South Africa last month. Other US states of New York, Hawaii, Minnesota and Colorado have also confirmed cases of Omicron variant.
