During an interview, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that for India to be called “tariff king" is "absolutely unjustified". Commenting on India-US trade negotiations, Sitharaman said that she'd love to have "a big, good, beautiful" agreement. Notably, Trump had in March said that "India is one of the highest-tariffing nations in world". Previously, he had called India the "tariff king".
