Can a widower claim family pension?

A legally wedded husband is generally entitled to a family pension after the working wife's death, under both Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021, and Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995. However, exceptions are made, wherein the wife can nominate her child/children in cases of divorce or domestic violence. Once the children aren't eligible, the pension becomes payable to the husband.
