The Supreme Court has answered whether the police can freeze accounts of the accused under Section 102 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 (CrPC) in corruption cases. The Supreme Court clarified that its observations regarding the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (PC Act) do not hold, either way, as to its status as a code.
