Can smoking increase your risk of bladder cancer?
Smoking is linked to nearly half of bladder cancer cases, says Dr Abhilash Reddy Mudireddy. Tobacco chemicals filtered by the kidneys can damage the bladder lining over time. Blood in urine, even without pain, should not be ignored. Quitting smoking can gradually lower the risk and may also improve outcomes after diagnosis.
