Newly appointed CJI Surya Kant told the Supreme Court Bar Association that while he cannot perform "miracles", he will not disappoint anyone. Calling the Bar his "family", he promised to prioritise lawyers' concerns and streamline case listings from December 1. He stressed that reforms will require collective effort from judges and the Bar, not a "magic wand".
