Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced a ban on imports of crude oil from Russia in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The oil revenues have "benefited Russian President Vladimir Putin and his oligarchs greatly", Trudeau said. "Even though Canada has barely imported any Russian oil and gas in recent years, this move sends a powerful message," he added.
