Canada court cancels ex-homeless man's ₹33 lakh in fines

A court in Canada has agreed to quash the 450 fines, worth $65,000 Canadian dollars (₹33 lakhs), that a man was issued when he was homeless. Gerry Williams, who is now off the streets, had been issued the tickets for non-criminal offences. The 45-year-old, sentenced to community service for aggressive begging, owes C$5,000 (₹2.5 lakhs) in tickets for federal offences.
