Canada and Denmark have been fighting a 'whiskey war' over Hans Island, located between the countries for over 30 years. In 1984, Denmark placed their flag on the island, a Danish liquor bottle and a "Welcome to the Danish island" note. Since then, both nations have tried to claim the land by placing their flags and liquor bottles on it.
