Canada releases new details of payment for news act, Meta replies

Canada released new details of a law mandating Meta and Alphabet to pay minimum of 4% of their annual revenue in Canada for carrying news links. This means that Alphabet's Google and Meta's Facebook would be liable to pay $126.7 million/year and $45.7 million/year to Canadian news industry. "Today's proposed regulations won't impact our...decision to [block] news...in Canada," Meta said.
