Canada has summoned senior officials from OpenAI after it confirmed it did not alert police when it suspended Jesse Van Rootselaar's ChatGPT account last year. The 18-year-old carried out fatal shootings in Tumbler Ridge on February 10 before taking her own life. OpenAI said it banned the account in June 2025 after flagging misuse but found no imminent threat.
