Canada to enforce plain cigarette packaging

Canada will make the plain packaging of cigarettes compulsory in an effort to reduce smoking, said the Canadian health minister on Tuesday. Five million of the 36 million inhabitants of the country use tobacco products, and Canada presently mandates warning labels on cigarette packets. Britain and Australia had earlier made plain packaging of cigarettes compulsory.
