Canadian PM Trudeau lifts emergency powers used to remove protesters

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday said he is ending the emergency powers he invoked nine days ago to remove protesters from the "Freedom Convoy" that disrupted Ottawa since late January. The Emergencies Act, which was approved on Monday, allowed accounts of those suspected of supporting the protest against COVID-19 mandates to be frozen without requiring a court order.
