Captain Vikram Batra's mother Kamal Kant Batra passed away at the age of 77 in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. She contested the general election in 2014 from Himachal Pradesh as a candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party. Captain Vikram Batra was martyred in the Kargil War in 1999 at the age of 24.
