CAQM to launch air quality rankings for NCR, Punjab cities

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) is developing a weighted-average air quality index to rank NCR and Punjab cities based on pollution reduction efforts. CAQM Member Secretary Tarun Pithode said the index will assess particulate matter reduction and source-wise action, aiming to incentivise progress and penalise underperforming states and cities.
