Car owner wins ₹6.9-lakh payout despite driver's fake licence, 16 years after accident
Delhi resident Ramesh Dalal won a ₹6.9-lakh payout after his insurer refused to accept his accident claim, noting that Dalal's driver Surender Singh held a fake licence, which violated the policy's terms. The consumer commission, while awarding the payout, said it wasn't clear if Dalal let Singh drive despite knowing of his fake licence. The accident took place in 2010.
