Carrying a satellite phone in India could land you in jail: US

The US advisory warns travellers that carrying satellite phones or GPS trackers in India is illegal according to the Telecommunication Act of 2023 and can lead to fines up to ₹2 crore or three years in jail. This does not include regular cell phones. Many unsuspecting tourists have already faced legal trouble.
