Congress leader Supriya Shrinate questioned the BJP government over the non-mention of the caste census in the Gazette notification. "Why is the caste census not explicitly mentioned in the Gazette notification?" she asked, adding that the press release alone has no sanctity. Shrinate blamed the government for not fulfilling promises and said people have doubts the government will make a "U-turn".
