'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' director and Aamir Khan's cousin Mansoor Khan said casting the actor in the film was not an act of nepotism. "I would’ve never done it if my dad was practising nepotism," he added. Talking about the film, Aamir said he was not expecting it to be received so well by the audience.
