Hong Kong's flag carrier Cathay Pacific said on Wednesday it would cut 8,500 jobs and close its Cathay Dragon unit owing to the impact of the global pandemic. The cut includes 5,300 jobs based in Hong Kong, 600 outside and 2,600 unlisted jobs that were eliminated, which is 24% of the headcount. "The future remains highly uncertain,” Cathay said.
