The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has rejected all representations for further extension of the due date for filing income tax returns where an audit report is required beyond February 15. The CBDT said the deadline has already been extended thrice and any further extension would postpone revenue collection and hamper government's efforts to provide relief to the poor.
