The CBI has alleged that British engine maker Rolls-Royce improperly used a third-party to conduct business with Hindustan Aeronautics, ONGC and GAIL. The agency said Rolls-Royce's appointment of Ashok Patni, director at Singapore-based Aashmore, as a commercial adviser in dealing with the firms violated regulations. Aashmore was paid commission of at least ₹55 crore between 2007 and 2011.
