Cells 'vomit' waste to heal injury faster: Study

A study conducted in mice discovered a process called cathartocytosis, where cells "vomit" parts of themselves when stressed or injured. This process aids them to rapidly become small cells capable of healing the injury faster. Researchers also warned that ongoing cathartocytosis is a sign of chronic inflammation and recurring cell damage that is a breeding ground for cancer.
