Digital currencies issued by central banks do not threaten the existence of cryptocurrencies, analysts at Morgan Stanley said in a report. "Cryptocurrencies will still exist, as they continue to serve other use cases," they added. The report further said buyers are increasingly viewing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as new institutional asset classes, rather than replacement payment systems.
