The Centre has amended the Flag Code of India, allowing the Tricolour to now be flown by the public both day and night. Earlier, the Tricolour was allowed to be flown from sunrise to sunset, irrespective of weather conditions. The government had earlier also amended the provision for material used for producing Tricolour by permitting polyester and machine-made Tricolour.
