The government has approved two new semiconductor units in Gujarat under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), with a ₹3,936-crore investment. Funded under the ₹76,000-crore ISM 1.0 launched in 2022, this completes the initial slate of 12 projects, with total investments reaching ₹1.65 lakh crore. The government is now preparing ISM 2.0, expected to exceed an outlay of ₹1 lakh crore.
