Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Centre believes in empowering the minorities "without appeasement". He added that the minorities meant six centrally notified minority communities and not Muslims alone. He said ₹1071.10 crore has been allocated for the 'PMJVK', under which various facilities including 21 residential schools were constructed in minority-dominated areas.
