Centre has formally notified a 66-hectare Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing in Gujarat's Dholera Special Investment Region. The Dholera semiconductor plant will be India's first chip fabrication unit, which was approved by the Centre in February 2024. A SEZ is a territory within a country that is typically duty-free and is legally treated as a foreign territory.
