Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for sanctioning over ₹291 crore for Joshimath's reconstruction. Calling it "a big gift to Uttarakhand," Dhami said, "The project will not only secure disaster-affected area of Joshimath, but will also provide a safe resting place for the local residents and devotees."
