Centre weighs letting airport owners run airlines: Report

The Civil Aviation Ministry has initiated talks about a rule change that would allow airport operators to own and run airlines, Bloomberg reported. Present policies prohibit airport operators in Delhi and Mumbai from owning more than a 10% stake in any airline, the report added. The policy change is reportedly aimed at broadening competition in the sector and curbing dominance.
