Centuries-old discriminatory practice in Kerala ends

On October 23, a centuries-old discriminatory practice against three marginalized Muslim groups in Kerala- Ossan (traditional barbers), Labba (a Muslim family group), and Muaddin (mosque employees)- ended. A conciliatory meeting by the Kerala Waqf Board resulted in granting these groups membership and voting rights within the Puthuppally Muslim Jama-Ath, promoting inclusivity and social equality.
