A Guwahati-based Central GST and Customs and Excise commissioner (appeals) was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a bribery case of ₹3.83 lakh, according to officials. The accused, S Raju, had allegedly demanded bribe to rule in a favour of a contractor working on Northeast Frontier Railway construction project. A middleman was also arrested in the case.
