As the heat wave intensified, mercury touched the 44 degree Celsius mark in Chandigarh on Tuesday, which turned out to be the season's hottest day. The city today recorded the season's highest day temperature of 44 degree Celsius, which was 0.2 degree above yesterday's 43.8 degree Celsius, the weathermen said.
