Chandrayaan-1 may have helped detect Moon's oldest impact basin
Chandrayaan-1 data has helped scientists identify a previously hidden impact basin on the Moon that may be the oldest known. Researchers from Ahmedabad's Physical Research Laboratory identified the Australe Basin using mineralogical data from the mission. Located in the Moon's southeastern region, the basin could be older and larger than South Pole-Aitken Basin, formed over 4 billion years ago.
