Channapatna: K'taka town where wooden toys tell a 300-year story

Channapatna, located between Bengaluru and Mysuru, is known as Karnataka’s Toy Town for its colourful wooden toys and traditional craftsmanship. The town’s toy-making heritage dates back nearly 300 years and has been shaped by Persian and Japanese influences. Channapatna Toys and Dolls received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2006, recognising its distinctive wooden craft.
