A four-year-old tigress named 'Paheli' has raised hopes of a tiger revival at Chhattisgarh's Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve after remaining there since January. The reserve's tiger population fell from 18 in 1998 to zero resident tigers by 2023. The officials have developed over 500 hectares of grassland and reclaimed 956 hectares of encroached land to support future tiger translocations.
