Chhattisgarh forest department has withdrawn its directive barring government departments, NGOs, and private entities from carrying out work concerning Community Forest Resource Rights until Centre passes a plan. It follows opposition from tribal communities and activists, who claimed it undermined legal rights under Forest Rights Act. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap directed to withdraw the order.
