Child need not say 'penetration' to prove rape: Delhi HC
The Delhi High Court ruled that the child victim need not use the word penetration to prove rape. Setting aside the acquittal of a man in a 2008 case involving a four-and-a-half-year-old girl, the court said a child's testimony must be judged by its substance, consistency, surrounding circumstances, medical and forensic evidence, and overall context.
