A number of Chinese cities eased COVID-19 restrictions on Thursday, days after protests across the country against the stringent regulations. Shijiazhuang in the north, Guangzhou in the south and Chengdu in the southwest were among some of the cities to announce easing of testing requirements and restrictions on movement. On Thursday, the Chinese government reported 36,061 new COVID-19 cases.
