China has approved construction of 11 new nuclear reactors across five sites with a total investment of 220 billion Yuan approximately $31 billion. The government plans to approve 10 new reactors annually with a view to increase its reliance on nuclear energy and reduce carbon emissions.The state council's approvals include reactors in Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, Zhejiang and Guangxi.
