China arrests former minister on charges of accepting bribes

China has arrested Sun Lijun, a former vice minister of public security, on suspicion of accepting bribes, a statement from the country's top prosecutor said. Sun, who was earlier accused of abandoning his post during a COVID-19 outbreak, was expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) in September. The arrest comes ahead of CPC's most-important summit of the year.
