China on Monday banned individuals aged below 18 from getting tattoos, stating that body art for minors opposes "socialist core values". According to the new rules, tattoo artists and parlours found to be tattooing minors will be strictly punished as per law. Additionally, no advertisement, books, journals or digital publications can include content that could influence minors to get tattoos.
