China has become the world's largest importer of crude oil despite its slowing economy and an expectation of oil imports easing with it. It replaced USA at the top-spot in oil importation in April, when it bought 7.4 million barrels-a-day against the US's 7.2 million. If China maintains this position, it would become the largest consumer of all goods.
