China bought 24 Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets from Russia in a deal estimated to be worth $2 billion, a spokesperson for Russian state-owned Rostec, which manufactures the planes, said on Thursday. China, which started formal negotiations for buying the aircraft in 2011, became the first foreign buyer of the Su-35. China is among the global top five Russian arms' buyers.
