Samir Saran, President of ORF, clarified a common misconception saying that, China doesn't dominate rare earth mineral mining, it dominates the refining and processing of these minerals. He compared China to a "beauty salon" where raw earth comes in and rare metals walk out, adding that this processing industry can be built anywhere, and India must build its own.
